Qeeboo: when design meets a tale

Stefano Giovannoni was born in La Spezia in 1954 and he graduated in architecture at the age of 23 at the University of Florence, after graduation he dedicated himself teaching and studying. During this period he had the opportunity to collaborate with important architects and designers like Alessandro Mendini.

In 1986 he founded the “bolidista” movement and he became the most important movement for innovation and design. This group identify himself for a different approach compared to the others. It is characterized by an accentuated dynamism shapes. The movement thought is still preserved and developed by Giovannoni, and it is represented by the production of objects and furniture recognizable, ironic and outgoing.

Giovannoni was the “father” of a lot of products became bestsellers with an incredible commercial success that brought to him a lot of prizes like the “Champion of Super and Popular years 2000”, “King Mida of design” and much more.

In 2016 Giovannoni decided to create his brand calling it the Next Generation Brand of furniture and home décor adopting the philosophy of “return back to the origin of the design”. Qeeboo wants to be a popular brand combining high quality products with affordable prices through incredible objects for everyday use but in an incredible way representing imaginary icons with irony and with an emotional way. The family of Qeeboo’s products was born from the collaboration of Giovannoni with important and eclectics international designers: From Studio Job to Nika Zupanc, Andrea Branzi, Marcantonio and much more.

For sure one of the most incredible and weird Qeeboo’s project is the “Giraffe in Love”, designed with Marcantonio. It is a 4 meters giraffe with a beautiful “Maria Teresa” chandelier in its mouth. Giraffe in Love wants to represent a giraffe that is falling in love and it doesn’t know because there is a lot of distance between the heart and the head of the animal. The item wants to represent the irony and the carefreeness of someone’s life.
